Oliver Friedrichs, Senior Vice President
Cloud Technology Group
Prior to Immunet and Sourcefire, Oliver spent six years at Symantec, the producers of Norton Antivirus, serving as Director, Emerging Technologies. In this role he managed Symantec Advanced Threat Research and oversaw the delivery of new technologies for Antivirus definitions, intrusion detection updates, and early warning technologies.
Oliver served as co-founder at SecurityFocus until the company's acquisition by Symantec in 2002, building the industry's first early warning technology for Internet attacks, the DeepSight Threat Management System.
Prior to SecurityFocus, Oliver served as co-founder and Vice President of Engineering at Secure Networks, Inc., acquired by McAfee in 1998. At Secure Networks, he architected and managed the development of CyberCop Scanner.
Oliver architected and developed a prototype of the industry's first commercial penetration testing product, codenamed SNIPER, acquired by Core Security Technologies in 2001 and further developed to become CORE IMPACT, the market leader for automated penetration testing.
Oliver has over 15 years of expertise in security technologies and has shared his expertise with many organizations, including the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Secret Service, the IRS, the DOD, NASA, AFOSI, and the Canadian DND.
Oliver attended the University of Manitoba, has had several security-related patents issued and is also the co-author of three security related books.
Alfred Huger, Vice President of Development

Alfred Huger is a well-known fixture in the Internet security industry. A three-time veteran of launching successful start-up companies, Alfred has co-founded and sold companies to Mcafee/Intel (NASDAQ: INTC), Symantec (NASDAQ: SYMC) and Sourcefire (NASDAQ: FIRE). Alfred has been a pioneer in early stage vulnerability assessment, honeypot and Cloud based early warning/alerting and Anti-Virus products.
Currently Alfred is in charge of product delivery for Sourcefire's Cloud Technology Group.
Alfred is frequently called upon to speak to security issues in the media with common coverage in such outlets as The Globe and Mail, Washington Post, New York Times, CNN and many others.
Dr. Adam O'Donnell, Chief Architect
Cloud Technology Group
Adam J. O'Donnell, Ph.D., is the Chief Architect in the Cloud Technology Group at Sourcefire, a computer security company based in Columbia, Maryland, where is he responsible for the architecture and development of Sourcefire's cloud
antivirus infrastructure. He joined Sourcefire through its 2010 acquisition of
Immunet, the San Mateo-based cloud antivirus firm, where he served as the
co-founder and director of cloud engineering.
Prior to Sourcefire and Immunet, he developed a number of technologies for filtering spam in e-mail and social networks at Cloudmark and held positions at managed security services firms Guardent and The Logan Group.
Adam has contributed to and co-authored several books, including the Hacker's Challenge series and Building Open Source Network Security Tools, and has served as a contributor to IEEE Security and Privacy and the ZDNet Zero Day blog. He is frequently quoted by leading publications such as USA Today and the Wall Street Journal. Adam completed his Ph.D. as a NSF Graduate Research Fellow in Drexel University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering in 2005.
Zulfikar Ramzen, Chief Scientist
Cloud Technology Group
Dr. Ramzan is responsible for Immunet's next generation threat detection technology, with an emphasis on cloud computing, collective intelligence, data mining and machine learning.
Prior to joining Immunet, Dr. Ramzan was Technical Director of Symantec's Security Technology and Response division. There he was the architect of Symantecs Reputation-based security technologies (codenamed Quorum), which are a fundamental part of Symantecs consumer and enterprise security offerings.
Dr. Ramzan also ran Symantecs Advanced Threat Research team and is considered an authority on emerging threat landscape trends including malware, phishing, online fraud, and Web 2.0 security. Dr. Ramzan is a recognized expert in the field of cryptography; he has co-authored over 50 technical articles, and two books including Crimeware: Understanding New Attacks and Defenses, Addison-Wesley Professional, 2008. Dr. Ramzan has over 50 patent applications, 11 of which have been granted. He was selected as General Chair of Crypto 2010.
Dr. Ramzan is a frequent public speaker and has briefed numerous media outlets including the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Associated Press, and Reuters as well as members of the United States Congress on cyber-security trends and issues.
Zulfikar holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and completed his thesis under Professor Ronald L. Rivest, a pioneer in cryptography and the inventor of the RSA public-key cryptosystem.
Tom Stuart, Vice President Business Development
Tom Stuart is responsible for Sourcefire's consumer antivirus business efforts. Tom has over 20 years of experience in business development, sales and marketing for IT Infrastructure and Security companies, and has worked at the executive level of both public and private companies. In this role, Tom forms and manages Sourcefire relationships with major partners such as Google and Comcast who distribute the Immunet antivirus product to their customers.
Tom's expertise is in bringing novel and revolutionary solutions to market and accelerating their success by leveraging partners. Tom was Vice President of Business Development at Autonomic Networks during their shift in name and strategy from the NAC supplier Vernier Networks to a company making equipment that enables organizations to remain compliant with network security protocols by providing information around who is accessing a network and how. It provides auditors with information, drawn directly from network traffic, such as dormant access accounts, excessive user access and users who are sharing passwords.
As a member of the founding team and Vice President of Sales and Business Development at Addamark (now Sensage), Tom lead the team that defined the product category for event log data management. Most recently, Tom was founding CEO at BeFiled a company that offered a cloud-based service that companies could offer their customers to finally make Paperless statements attractive to the masses. Tom holds a B.S.E degree from Duke University and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School and in his spare time tries to keep up with preschool-aged twins.
